Abstract
This study presents the evolution of the economic life of Putna Monastery from 1762 until the last years of the 19th century, as reflected by Archimandrite Vartolomei Mazereanu’s Cattle and Hive Register. It includes reports on the number of sheep, cattle, horses and pigs, as well as on the number of beehives owned by the monastery. There are also data on the number of hired servants and their pay, as well as on the contacts the monastery had with various buyers.
