Abstract
The Secu Monastery was founded in Moldova by Governor Nistor Ureche, while the Flămânda Skete was founded in Wallachia by Great Logothete Teodosie Rudeanu. The resemblance between the two monastic settlements was striking at the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century. The present study is an attempt – open to further contributions – to illuminate the mystery of their close connection.
