Abstract
The author mentions the lack of evidence on Ciprian Porumbescu’s participation in the Putna Festivities on Sunday, August 15/27, 1871, on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Reviewing the reverberation of the formula “I sang to the whole of Dacia!”, he notes that this insertion was included by Nicolae Petra-Petrescu in a biography of Romanian composer Ciprian Porumbescu written by him in Călindarul „Amicul poporului” (Sibiu, 1884), in order to demonstrate that the young musician was festively appreciated from the very beginning in his native Bukovina. The image of the circle dance (hora) with peasants and intellectuals was taken by the biographer from a letter sent by Ciprian Porumbescu to his sister Mărioara, referring to the choral event in Chizătău, Banat, on the day of the Nativity of the Mother of God, September 8/20, 1882. There is a gap of 11 years between the two events.
