Abstract
The chronicle of Giacomo di Pietro Luccari from 1601 mentions twice “Stefano Batrin”, none other than Stephen the Great of Moldavia. A compared analysis of the data provided by this historical writing on Wallachia and Moldavia leads us to the idea of the existence of a first parallel chronicle, in Romanian, written for the use of prince Petru Șchiopul, the first Wallachian ruler to climb on the throne of Moldavia in 1574.
